21. und 22. Januar 2011

From the fashion floors of Condé Nast in New York to the wooden floors of Jivamukti Yoga in London, cat has officially traded in her Manolo Blahniks for a more ‘grounded’ approach to life…in bare feet.
cat hails from New York City and has been calling London home since early 2004. She is privileged and blessed to have been part of Jivamukti London since its inception in 2005 and continues to serve as Advanced Certified Teacher, Assistant Director and mentor for the 800-hour apprenticeship programme.
Jivamukti Yoga offers vigorously physical and intellectually stimulating yoga classes. Classes include Vinyasa (flowing asana sequences), hands-on adjustments, Pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, Sanskrit chanting, Yogic philosophical teachings and deep relaxation. To keep the practice inspiring, asana sequences are ever changing with music playing an integral role in the class.

get grounded for 2011: solid connection through standing & balancing sequences
An ‘earth’-conscious connection in the Yoga practice facilitates a generous and mutually FOR-GIVING (as opposed to FOR-TAKING!) relationship with the whole of our universe…one that is balanced, steady and full of grace. What does it take to feel grounded, plugged in, deeply connected? Not merely in the asana and meditation practices but equally so in life…as we maneuver through its magnificent landscape…complete with unexpected ebb’s and flow’s. This 2.5hour workshop will explore the Jivamukti Yoga standing/balancing sequences and will equally represent all the essential ingredients of a Jivamukti Yoga class.
empty your cup”: no expectations, no baggage
A Buddhist scholar came to visit a wise master because he wanted to learn more about Zen. The scholar talked about his own great learning, how he was an expert in the ancient texts and had studied this classic and that classic. He talked about his own theories of learning and of how he had thought on these matters for many years.
The master listened without speaking and then began to make tea. When it was ready, he held the teapot over the scholar’s cup and began to pour. He poured until the cup was filled, and then he continued pouring until the tea was running all over the floor.
The scholar jumped up, insulted. He demanded, “Why do you keep filling my cup? Can’t you see that it is full and can’t hold any more?”
The Zen master stopped pouring. “You are like this cup,” he said. “You come here and ask for wisdom and yet your cup is already full. I can put nothing in it. Before I can teach you, you must empty your cup.”
This 2.5 hour workshop will consist of the essential ingredients of a vigorous, ‘shift’-provoking and asana enhanced Jivamukti Yoga class.
